Shipping and Returns

Shipping and Availability: 

All Sylvan Park products are all made by hand. We often produce items after your order is placed, but also attempt to keep some items in stock to be able to ship as quickly as possible. Items usually ship within 5-7 business days and "Made to Order" pieces ship in approximately two weeks. Ground shipping (including Free Shipping) may be shipped via USPS, UPS Ground or Fed Ex Ground. Shipping carrier for free domestic shipping is at the discretion of Sylvan Park. If you need to expedite your order, or to confirm a shipping date, please contact us directly with your timeframe and we will inform you of your shipping options and any costs that might apply.  

Returns and Exchanges:

If you are not satisfied with your order via shopsylvanpark.com, you can return or exchange your order for a refund or exchange within 7 days. In order to be eligible for a refund, all products must be in the original (unused and unworn) condition with the tags and packaging attached and included. Return shipping charges are not refundable. To arrange for a refund or exchange please contact us via email (proof of purchase will be required).

Items purchased in directly from Sylvan Park at an event/market, custom monogramming, sale items and/or sample sales are not subject to this return policy. All these purchases are final sale.

Items purchased through one of our stockists will be subject to the store's return policy. 

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 7-10 days.

Sale items (if applicable)

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately discounted items cannot be refunded.

Onsite Purchases (if applicable)

Items purchased from Sylvan Park at an events, markets and sales are not subject to this return policy. Those items are all final sale unless indicated otherwise on your receipt.

Exchanges (if applicable)

We will replace items if they are defective or damaged within 7 days of purchase. To request an exchange, please send an email to: info@shopsylvanpark.com detailing the problem. 

Return Shipping:

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

 

Leather Care:

The genuine full-grain leather used in our entire collection is created using an age-old process of vegetable tanning, which utilizes plant-based materials and is free from the harsh substances used to tan most leather today. Our certified* leather is sourced from a family-owned tannery in Tuscany, and all hides are a by-product of the food industry. 

Because of the natural tanning and dying process, each piece is one of a kind. Variations in grain, texture, color and markings are what makes this leather and each Sylvan Park piece unique.

Vegetable tanned leather requires a little bit of love to ensure it ages gracefully. Our leather does not wear out, but instead gains its own character over time. Periodic conditioning (with clear wax-free products designed for vegetable tanned leather) will help to keep the leather supple and eliminate scratches.

Please limit exposure to the harsh elements and try to keep your piece out of the rain to avoid spotting. Any spills or liquids should be immediately absorbed with a clean cloth and allowed to dry completely before storing or conditioning. As with any naturally-dyed piece, there is always a chance that some color can transfer to lighter colored leathers or clothing. Please take care while breaking in your leather.

Daily use, exposure to the sun, and the oils from your skin will change the color and finish of your vegetable tanned leather piece; developing what is known as its patina. All Sylvan Park pieces are designed to embrace, and be enhanced, by this change.

Additionally, please take extra care with our 24K gold imprinted pieces. Excessive wear, exposure to water/liquids, and abrasion may cause the imprint to fade over time.  

Please feel free to contact us for any advice about the care of your Sylvan Park products. A good leather specialist or cobbler is another great resource for proper care and supplies. Be sure to test any new cleaning or conditioning products on a hidden part of your bag first. As a good rule of thumb, always store your bag in its cotton dust bag to help ensure that it lasts for years.

Repairs: 

Each Sylvan Park piece is handmade locally in NYC. We provide repairs for purchases made through shopsylvanpark.com, one of our authorized sellers (stockist), or directly from Sylvan Park at an event/market for issues due to workmanship or defects within the hardware or leather for up to 1 year after your purchase. We do not provide repairs due to cosmetic issues, misuse, or general wear and tear, and our repair policy will not apply to sample sale or sale items or those made by resellers. It is at the discretion of Sylvan Park as to how to repair an item and it is understood that replacement hardware or leather may vary if needed. For all repair questions, please first contact us at info@shopsylvanpark.com to approve your repair. Please provide your proof of purchase and you may be asked to send pictures via email to assess the damage.
